It takes a long time for conference programs to be developed, submitted, evaluated, selected, scheduled, and publicized. Now is the time to work with colleagues and Interest Groups to plan, collaborate, and refine ideas to make next year’s conference memorable. The ALA Conference Program Submission site is now open for program proposals at http://www.ala.org/conferencesevents/submissions. Proposal submissions will be accepted through September 10. The submission site includes information such as “Tips for Submitting a Proposal” and the “Review Guidelines.”
Also, later this summer watch for an ASGCLA call to submit proposals for Midwinter Institutes or Annual Conference Preconferences. It is not too early for you and colleagues or an Interest Group to develop an idea for a full or half day session. Institutes and preconferences allow more time for development of a topic as well as flexible use of time for participatory interactive segments. As ticketed events they can provide much needed income and visibility for ASGCLA.
